| What picture to send?
The picture can be an ordinary
photograph, or e-mail a digital image. It can be
black and white! If the photo is small, but
it is a favourite of yours I suggest you send it and
include a couple more pictures. Most importantly
you must like the image yourself. It is useful to
include an e-mail or letter detailing the persons
colouring. For example are their eyes pale
blue, grey/blue, mid blue or green? If you are not
sure, do not worry. I will be able to gain an idea
of their colouring by asking you a few questions either
on the phone or by an e-mail conversation. I will go
over what you would like and write you a letter by post
or email as to whether the photograph is suitable.
If is preferable that
the image is taken in good light. Light behind the
subject is recommended as this should prevent squinting.
Avoid midday in strong sunlight, mornings and evenings
can provide a softer light .
Can two different people
from two separate photographs be painted on one single
canvas?
Yes. This is
ideal when you like both images of two people but they
are in separate pictures. I will put them together
in a painting for you. You can even specify
hairstyles, right down to the clips in their hair!
Do I receive the
photographs back, unharmed?
Yes, all photographs will
be returned to you, with the completed portrait
painting. Please do not send valuable photograph(s)
in the post. I cannot be held responsible for
accidental loss or damage. If you are concerned as
to whether or not to send a valuable picture of your
loved one(s) why not discuss it with me?
How long will it take
for the portrait to be completed?
An oil painting will take
from 3 - 8 weeks after receipt of your order.
Pastel and pencil paintings take less time. The
difference is due to the drying time of the paint.
If you have a certain date in mind, please ask, even if
you think there it too little time. I am happy to
work to a dead line. When the painting is
completed I can deliver it for you, if you live locally.
Otherwise it will be packaged securely and sent by post.
I will inform you by email when your painting was sent.
Is the portrait painting
process in any way computer assisted?
No. I hand paint all
my pictures by myself.
What if I am not happy
with the finished painting? Do you offer a money
back guarantee?
I am committed to the
highest level of customer satisfaction and operate a
simple guarantee. If you are not satisfied with
the portrait painting you commissioned, return it within
30 days for a money (less any mileage, postage and packaging and
original deposit ) refund.
Do you frame the
portraits and paintings?
No, but I am happy to
advise. I can arrange framing for you if you live
local. This is at an additional cost.
Often I find people want to wait and see where they will
hang the painting and consider the surrounding
decor before deciding on a frame.
Your reputable local framer
will be able to offer you a wide choice of frames, from
which you will be able to select the one that best suits
your needs, at a price that will produce savings for
you.
